The deal, with a major state-owned chemical player in China, covers the co-production of Dimethyl Succinate (DMS) and 1.4-Butanediol
MAIRE has announced that its subsidiary Nextchem, via Conser, has secured a licensing and process design package for its proprietary NX Conser Man and NX Conser Duetto technologies.
The deal, with a major state-owned chemical player in China, covers the co-production of Dimethyl Succinate (DMS) and 1.4-Butanediol (BDO).
The agreement targets integrated BDO and DMS production, enabling downstream applications including PolyButylene Succinate (PBS) and other specialty polymers—key components in the shift toward bio-based and circular materials. Subsequent tenders for catalyst and proprietary equipment supply are expected.
The NX Conser technologies promise high conversion efficiency and product purity while minimizing feedstock use, enhancing sustainability. Their seamless integration with downstream units also allows flexible, diversified production of advanced biopolymers.
Fabio Fritelli, Managing Director of Nextchem, said: “This achievement reflects the growing market confidence in our innovative approach to combine adjacent technologies and advanced process integration, capable of delivering competitive advantages in terms of cost, energy efficiency, and product quality.
"This result reinforces our technological excellence and competitiveness in the bioplastics sector in a strategically significant industrial market such as China.”
