The newly operational 280 tonnes-per-day unit will deliver a continuous, on-site supply of high-purity oxygen, nitrogen and argon
INOX Air Products Private Limited has commissioned a high-capacity cryogenic Air Separation Unit at Tata Steel Limited’s new Electric Arc Furnace-based facility in Ludhiana, marking a significant boost to northern India’s industrial gas infrastructure.
The newly operational 280 tonnes-per-day unit will deliver a continuous, on-site supply of high-purity oxygen, nitrogen and argon—gases essential for producing high-grade steel at the greenfield plant. The fully automated system is designed to ensure uninterrupted flow, a critical requirement for modern, efficiency-driven steelmaking.
Beyond supporting Tata Steel’s operations, the project positions INOXAP to expand its footprint across the region. The company plans to leverage the plant’s output to supply industrial customers throughout northern India via tanker distribution, cutting delivery times and strengthening local supply chains.
Speaking on the development, Siddharth Jain, Managing Director – INOX Air Products, said, “The commissioning of this 280 TPD cryogenic ASU is a proud milestone for INOXAP, both in terms of our engineering capabilities and our commitment to enabling some of India’s most ambitious industrial projects.
"By ensuring an uninterrupted, high-purity gas supply for this landmark EAF facility, we aim to directly contribute to a model of steel manufacturing that is cleaner, smarter and more sustainable.
"Simultaneously, this ASU intends to open up a strategic gateway for liquid gas distribution across northern India, enabling INOXAP to serve a wider industrial customer base across the region. We remain deeply committed to building the gas supply infrastructure that powers India’s manufacturing future.”
The Ludhiana deployment reinforces INOXAP’s standing as a key partner in India’s industrial expansion, particularly in steel. The company continues to invest in large-scale, technology-driven infrastructure aimed at supporting next-generation manufacturing.
