Lubrizol will continue investing in India to enhance customer responsiveness, strengthen local value chains, and drive sustainable, long-term growth

Strategic initiatives undertaken by Lubrizol during FY 2025–06 to enhance its market position and operational efficiency?

At Lubrizol, our strategy in India is focused on building an integrated, localized, and resilient operating model that strengthens both market position and operational efficiency. Over FY25–26, we have made significant progress across multiple dimensions. We have expanded our end-to-end CPVC ecosystem with the commissioning of the CPVC resin plant in Vilayat and the expansion at Dahej, strengthening capabilities from resin to compounds and improving supply security and responsiveness.

At the same time, we have optimized our manufacturing footprint, including enhancements at Turbhe and other facilities, to improve asset utilization and ensure reliable supply to customers. In parallel, we have continued to scale our Global Capability Center (GCC) in Pune, which enables digital, engineering and supply chain excellence, supporting faster decision-making and improved process efficiency. We are also advancing our Technology and Innovation Center in India to accelerate application development and bring innovation closer to customers. Together, these initiatives strengthen our ability to deliver consistent supply, faster innovation, and greater operational efficiency in a dynamic market environment.

Lubrizol India's revenue and profit performance in FY 2025–26? Key growth drivers that influenced its revenue and profitability in India?

India continues to be a high-growth and strategically important market for Lubrizol, supported by strong underlying demand and execution capabilities. We expect to double our business in India over the next 5 years. Growth has been driven by robust demand across infrastructure, water management, mobility, healthcare, and consumer segments, all of which continue to expand structurally in India.

Our focus on localization of manufacturing has also played a critical role, improving cost efficiency, enhancing supply reliability, and supporting margin stability. In addition, innovation-led differentiation has enabled us to move toward higher-value, application-driven solutions rather than commoditized offerings. Strong customer partnerships and proximity further reinforce this growth, allowing us to deliver solutions that are closely aligned with customer needs. Overall, our approach is focused on the quality of growth, driven by innovation, localization, and operational excellence.

How is Lubrizol's upcoming technology and innovation center in Navi Mumbai expected to help in enhancing Innovation, R&D, and application development for Lubrizol customers?

The Technology and Innovation Center is a key enabler of our local-for-local and local-for-global innovation strategy. It will allow us to significantly enhance how we develop and deliver solutions by integrating R&D, formulation science, and application development in a single ecosystem. This integration enables faster development cycles and more efficient commercialization of new products. It will also strengthen customer-centric co-creation, allowing us to work closely with customers to develop solutions tailored to India-specific needs and conditions. Importantly, the center connects India’s innovation capabilities with Lubrizol’s global network, enabling ideas and technologies developed locally to scale globally. By bringing multiple labs and Centers of Excellence under one roof, it creates a comprehensive innovation ecosystem and significantly improves our ability to deliver differentiated and high-performance solutions.

Lubrizol’s has committed around $350 million in localized manufacturing and in-region investments over the last two years till 2025. Capex investment planned for the next two years i.e. FY 2025–27?

We take a disciplined and opportunity-led approach to capital allocation rather than committing to forward-looking investment numbers. This includes strengthening manufacturing and supply resilience, expanding innovation and application development capabilities, and building digital, technology and talent capabilities.

India remains a priority growth market for Lubrizol, and we will continue to invest in areas that enhance customer responsiveness, strengthen local value chains and support sustainable long-term growth.

What are the latest developments related to investment in additives facility planned in Aurangabad?

As part of our ongoing portfolio and capacity review, we have taken a strategic decision to optimize our manufacturing footprint and align investments with current and near-term demand conditions. We have strengthened capacity at our existing facilities, including Turbhe, which are fully operational and capable of meeting customer requirements effectively. Our broader manufacturing network and partnerships continue to provide the necessary flexibility and scale to support market demand. This approach reflects our focus on operational efficiency, supply reliability and disciplined capital deployment, while continuing to invest in technology, innovation, and localized capabilities aligned with long-term growth opportunities in India.

Lubrizol and Polyhose signed an MoU to establish a medical manufacturing site in Tamil Nadu. Capex for this project, timelines and expected outcomes in terms of products?

Our partnership with Polyhose is focused on building a localized, end-to-end medical manufacturing ecosystem in India. This includes establishing a state-of-the-art medical tubing facility in Tamil Nadu that will significantly enhance domestic production capabilities. The facility will produce high-precision tubing for cardiovascular, neurovascular, and minimally invasive applications, leveraging Lubrizol’s advanced biocompatible materials and extrusion expertise. This initiative is designed to reduce import dependency for critical medical components while improving access, quality, and supply reliability within the healthcare ecosystem. At the same time, it supports India’s emergence as a global hub for precision medical manufacturing by strengthening capabilities across the full value chain.

The company is doubling CPVC compound manufacturing capacity at its Dahej, Gujarat site. After expansion, the capacity of Dahej Plant? What factors drove this expansion and how does it position Lubrizol to meet the growing needs of the piping sector in the region?

The expansion at Dahej is driven by strong and sustained demand in water infrastructure, housing, and urban development, which continue to be key growth drivers in India. By doubling our CPVC compounding capacity, we are significantly enhancing our ability to deliver consistent and reliable supply to customers while improving responsiveness to market demand. Importantly, this expansion is closely linked with our upstream investment in CPVC resin production at Vilayat, enabling a fully integrated, end-to-end CPVC ecosystem in India. This integrated capability strengthens supply security, improves operational efficiency and positions Lubrizol to effectively meet the long-term growth needs of the piping and infrastructure sectors.
