The company expands into India and APAC to support industrial decarbonisation with advanced fuel cell technology
Elcogen, a leading European manufacturer of technology that enables the efficient production of affordable green hydrogen and emission-free electricity, has announced the appointment of Anil Srikar Pavuluri as Business Development Director for the region.
This marks the firm’s strategic expansion into one of the world’s fastest-growing energy markets. India’s ambitious targets for non-fossil power generation, nuclear capacity expansion, increased ethanol blending and the planned introduction of a carbon market are creating strong momentum for zero-carbon technologies.
For Elcogen, specialising in high-efficiency solid oxide fuel cell technology for clean electricity generation and green hydrogen production, the region presents a significant opportunity as governments and industries seek scalable solutions to reduce emissions, improve energy efficiency and cut reliance on imported fossil fuels.
Elcogen’s solid oxide components produce hydrogen at 33–40 kWh per kilogram and achieve 75% fuel cell electrical efficiency, which increases to more than 90% overall efficiency when incorporating waste heat.
“Hard-to-abate sectors are energy-intensive and heat-rich, creating ideal conditions for SOEC integration to reduce the cost of hydrogen production. Simultaneously, the rapid growth of data centres and remote microgrids, where hydrogen supply can be paired with on-site power generation, makes SOFCs a strong hydrogen utilisation pathway,” said Pavuluri.
“With more than two decades of experience in solid oxide technology, high-performance solid oxide cells, stacks, and modules, and an operational manufacturing capacity of up to 360 MW, I am confident that Elcogen is strategically positioned to enable high-efficiency hydrogen production, clean power generation, and system flexibility - all key pillars of the global energy transition," added Pavuluri.
