Anupam Colours proposes expansion of unit

Anupam Colours Pvt Ltd has proposed to expand the capacity of its existing products at its organic azo pigments manufacturing unit at Vapi in Gujarat’s Valsad district.

Anupam Colours Pvt Ltd has proposed to expand the capacity of its existing products at its organic azo pigments manufacturing unit at Vapi in Gujarat’s Valsad district.

In its letter to the Ministry of Environment and Forest for environmental clearance to its proposal, the company said that it intends to increase the capacity of organic red pigment to 70 TPM from the existing 15 TPM. It also said that it wants to start production of 70 TPM each of Organic yellow pigment and Organic Orange pigment.

The proposed expansion project cost is Rs 1103 crore. The existing project cost is Rs 480 lakh.

The total plot area is 5000 sq m of which 500 sq m is for greenbelt development.

The company said there are no defence installation, biosphere reserve, national park or wildlife sanctuary and ecologically-sensitive area within 10 km radius of the project site.

According to the company, attempts shall be made to minimise the effluent generation, solid wastes, air emissions and noise etc.

According to the company, there will be no adverse effect on water environment due to the project.

The company said it will provide personal protective equipment like hand gloves, gumboot, goggles, helmet, clothing etc to the employees according to requirement. It will adopt all hazard identification measures to ensure safety and providing all medical facilities to its employees.

It said occupational health surveillance programmes will be undertaken as a regular exercise for all employees.

There will not be any major potential for negative impact on the environment due to the proposed project.

On the contrary, there will be positive impact on the socio-economic environment since the proposed project will generate some permanent and secondary employment and it will increase direct and indirect employment opportunities, the company said.
