Chambal Fertilisers revises L&T contract price for TAN plant to Rs. 992.71 Cr

Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals Limited (CFCL) has amended its contract with Larsen & Toubro Limited to set up a plant for the manufacture of Technical Ammonium Nitrate (TAN) at the existing site of the company at Gadepan, District Kota, Rajasthan, including a plant to manufacture Weak Nitric Acid (WNA).

The contract with Larsen & Toubro Limited includes, inter-alia, designing, engineering, procurement, supply of equipment and materials, construction, project management, pre-commissioning and commissioning of the project and its associated facilities, and grant/transfer of requisite license for the project. Brief particulars of the amendment to the contract includes: Configuration of the plant to enable additional feed of warm ammonia in WNA and TAN plants; and Space provision in High Density Ammonium Nitrate (HDAN) plot plan to accommodate Low Density Ammonium Nitrate (LDAN) equipment for future production of LDAN.

Consequent to the above, revision in the basic contract price of the contract (excluding tax) from Rs. 960.71 crore to Rs. 992.71 crore (the estimated overall cost of project shall remain the same i.e. Rs. 1,645 crore). The timeline for completion of the project is extended to 19 January, 2026.
