Corteva has unveiled the corn innovation pipeline for Vylor, its planned advanced seed and advanced genetics spin-off, as the company targets October 1, 2026 for the separation.
The multi-year roadmap is designed to reinforce Vylor’s position in key corn markets, broaden farmers’ choice and flexibility, and drive long-term, royalty-advantaged growth.
“Corn is already one of the most planted crops in the world and its importance will only continue to grow. Our pipeline changes the game through 2035 with the industry’s first-ever trait designed to improve yield and yield stability.
"In field trials across the Americas, corn with this trait took outstanding performance to a new level by delivering an incremental three bushels per acre on average, with gains of up to 10 bushels per acre1,” said Sam Eathington, chief technology officer of the future Vylor.
The pipeline is expected to generate more than $2 billion in incremental revenue by 2035, including licensing. Vylor is targeting seven new corn technology platforms through 2035, with the platforms collectively expected to reach 90% of the company’s corn business.

We are building long-term, royalty-advantaged technology platforms that give Vylor more freedom to innovate, grows our licensing business and positions the company for sustained leadership.”
The roadmap begins rolling out in Latin America in 2028 with Abranvo technology, a platform designed to provide fall armyworm control through two new modes of action, alongside yield and yield-stability traits and multiple modes of herbicide tolerance.
Vylor plans to follow with next-generation insect control featuring two additional proprietary modes of action aimed at extending fall armyworm control.
In 2029, the roadmap moves to North America, where Vylor plans to introduce next-generation above-ground insect control technology paired with its proprietary yield and yield-stability trait.
Additional launches are planned across multiple regions through the end of the decade, including what Vylor describes as an industry-first gene-edited, multi-disease-resistant (MDR) corn technology.
The MDR technology is designed to combat four corn diseases: Northern Corn Leaf Blight, Grey Leafspot, Southern Rust and Anthracnose Stalk Rot.
Vylor also plans to introduce reduced-stature corn, built on its next-generation technology platforms and targeted at market segments where the technology can deliver the greatest value to farmers.
In 2031, Vylor expects to introduce a new below-ground insect-control product in North America aimed at redefining corn rootworm protection. The product will feature two new, non-Bt modes of action, including one that is plant-based—another industry first, according to the company.
Taken together, the technologies are expected to give Vylor one of the industry’s most comprehensive corn portfolios of proprietary products, with multiple routes to market, including licensing.
Vylor’s corn strategy rests on three pillars: Farmer-focused investment in technologies designed to consistently deliver value; Elite germplasm to strengthen the brand and expand out-licensing opportunities; Proprietary biotech and gene-editing platforms designed to help shift Vylor from technology licensee to licensor.
The company’s corn position is built on more than a century of advanced genetics and breeding expertise, backed by what it describes as industry-leading germplasm.
