DCM Shriram Limited and Bayer Crop Science Limited have announced a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at advancing India's agricultural sector. This collaboration will focus on leveraging innovation, sustainability, and farmer-centric solutions to strengthen the country's agriculture ecosystem.

Both companies will explore synergies in providing comprehensive crop solutions, including seeds, specialty plant nutrition, biologicals, agri-inputs, and digital advisory platforms.

The agreement outlines plans for jointly supporting farmer organizations and initiating sustainable agriculture programs. This includes pilot projects in vital areas like soil health, carbon sequestration, and integrated crop management.

The collaboration also seeks to strengthen agricultural value chains and assess potential partnership opportunities within specific segments of the chemicals business.

Ajay S. Shriram, Chairman & Senior Managing Director, and Vikram S Shriram, Vice Chairman & Managing Director of DCM Shriram Ltd., expressed enthusiasm for the partnership. They noted that by combining their complementary strengths, the companies aim to support sustainable and productive agriculture while creating long-term value for farmers and the wider ecosystem.

Simon Wiebusch, CEO of Bayer CropScience Ltd., emphasized the timely nature of the alliance, stating that resilience and value-chain integration are critical for the future success of Indian agriculture.
