Details on chemical industry sought ahead of India-Mexico meet

The Department of Commerce has sought information from the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals (DCPC) on issues related to the chemical industry that can be raised at the upcoming meeting of the India-Mexico Bilateral High-Level Group on trade

The Department of Commerce has sought information from the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals (DCPC) on issues related to the chemical industry that can be raised at the upcoming meeting of the India-Mexico Bilateral High-Level Group on trade, investment and economic cooperation.

The Bilateral High-Level Group is an institution mechanism for promoting bilateral cooperation in commercial, technical and other related fields between the two countries.

"It is requested that bilateral trade and investment issues including issues relating to market access for Indian products and services in Mexico, anti-dumping and safeguard duties faced by Indian products in Mexico, etc may be kindly furnished to the department at the earliest," the Department of Commerce said in a letter to the DCPC.

Under the Bilateral High-Level Group, six working groups have been created:

1.Industrial dialogue with private sector participation (chemical-pharma, textiles and bio-fuels sector)
2.Trade Promotion
3.Investment Promotion (including infrastructure)
4.Custom Cooperation
5.Services Promotion
6.Tourism Promotion
