Ester Loop Infinite Technologies (ELITe), the 50:50 joint venture between Ester Industries Limited and Loop Industries, has secured another major commercial commitment from a leading global sports brand, strengthening the case for its upcoming textile-to-textile recycled polyester facility in India.
Loop Industries and Ester Industries’ joint venture partner has signed a non-binding Letter of Intent (LoI) with the global sports brand for the supply of Loop PET Fiber Grade resin. Under the proposed multi-year commercial framework, the brand intends to source up to 15,000 metric tonnes of Loop resin annually from ELITe’s planned manufacturing facility in India.
The latest LoI comes shortly after ELITe’s earlier announcement involving global sportswear giant Nike, positioning marquee international brands as early customers for the facility even before commercial operations begin.

Loop Industries Founder and Chief Executive Officer Daniel Solomita said the latest agreement demonstrates growing commercial interest in the company’s recycling technology.

As we move ELITe towards operations in 2028, growing interest from marquee global brands reinforces the demand we're seeing for infinitely recyclable PET, and strengthens the long-term commercial case for this facility."
ELITe’s India facility is expected to become operational in 2028 and will deploy Loop Industries’ proprietary depolymerization technology to process 100% polyester textile waste.
The technology will convert textile waste into virgin-quality monomers—DMT and MEG—which will subsequently be polymerized into polyester resin. Initial resin testing and feedstock validation have delivered positive preliminary results, with full material qualification and long-term supply chain integration now underway with global brand partners.
The company said the project is designed to support the shift toward circular textile manufacturing while reducing reliance on virgin, fossil fuel-based polyester and helping global brands build lower-carbon supply chains.
Project execution is also moving ahead. ELITe expects to complete land acquisition within the next two to three months. Following completion of the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) by Tata Consulting Engineers, the company has awarded the detailed engineering contract to Toyo Engineering India Private Limited.
