Excel Industries gets environment ministry's green nod for expansion programme

The Expert Appraisal Committee (EAC) of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) have recommended for grant of environmental clearance for the proposed expansion  of Excel Industries ‘ chemical manufacturing  unit capacity from  91,338 TPA to 183,272 TPA  located  in MIDC Dhatav, Raigad, Maharashtra.

 

The estimated project cost is Rs 291.37 crores including existing investment of Rs 224.37 crores. Total capital cost earmarked towards environmental pollution control measures is Rs 2473 Lakhs and the Recurring cost (operation and maintenance) will be about Rs 1528.2 lakhs per annum.

 

 Total Employment will be 188 persons as direct & 359 persons indirect after expansion. The Industry has been working closely with the local panchayats and villages in the existing phase and for the expansion proposes to allocate additional Rs 90 Lakhs towards social activities.

 

After expansion programme the plant will produce Phosphorus trichloride (PCl3), Thio Phosphoryl Chloride (PSCl3), Phosphorus Pentasulphide (P2S5), Diethyl/Dimethyl Di Thiophosphoric Acid [DTA (E)/(M)] and other chemical products.
