Govt. approves 25 manufacturing sites for Remdesivir production

The production capacity is now ramped up to 90 lakh vials per month whereas earlier it was 40 lakh vials/month

The Government of India has approved 25 new manufacturing sites for Remdesivir production in the country thereby ramping up production from 40 lakh vials/month to 90 lakh vials/month.

The Minister of State for Chemicals & Fertilizers Mansukh Mandaviya has informed that 25 new manufacturing sites for Remdesivir's production have been approved since 12th April, 2021.  "The production capacity is now ramped up to 90 lakh vials per month whereas earlier it was 40 lakh vials/month. Very soon 3 lakh vials/day will be produced. Monitoring is being done on a daily basis and we would not leave any stone unturned to supply Remdesivir,” added Mandaviya.
