Indian Chemical News (ICN), an online news media covering Chemicals, Petrochemicals, and Energy sector is organising a session on Efficient and Sustainable Water Treatment for Chemical Plants on May 9 at Hotel Hyatt Place, Bharuch.

The session is part of a 2-day conference titled “Gujarat Chem & Petchem Conference 2025” on May 8-9, 2025 at Hotel Hyatt Place, Bharuch, Gujarat. The theme of GCPC 2025 Conference 2025 is Viksit Gujarat: Viksit Bharat@2047. Please register as a delegate for the conference by clicking on the link (https://www.indianchemicalnews.com/gcpc-2025/register.php).

The main objective of the conference is to understand the fundamental issues of Chemicals and Petrochemicals plants in Gujarat and prepare a solution roadmap through various brainstorming sessions and presentations. Along with the Conference, there is an Expo where Exhibitors are displaying their latest innovations, technologies, and other offerings to enhance operational efficiency, safety, and sustainability of plants.

Reinventing operational efficiency and manufacturing excellence in chemical plants involves a multifaceted approach that encompasses technology, processes, workforce management, sustainability, and regulatory compliance. Automation, IoT, and Industry 4.0 tools like real-time data analytics and predictive maintenance enhance productivity, reduce downtime, and improve resource utilization. Process intensification—using innovative reactor designs or modular systems—cuts energy consumption and waste while boosting output. Digital twins enable simulation and optimization of plant operations, ensuring precision and safety. Lean manufacturing principles streamline workflows, minimizing inefficiencies, while AI-driven supply chain management improves demand forecasting and inventory control.

There is also a need to emphasize green chemistry and circular economy practices, such as recycling byproducts and adopting renewable energy, which aligns with environmental goals. Moreover, workforce upskilling will ensure adaptability to these innovations, positioning chemical plants as agile, cost-effective, and globally competitive leaders in production excellence.

The session will highlight defining a strategic roadmap for enhancing operational efficiency and manufacturing excellence in the chemical industry.

Points to be discussed during the session are: Digital transformation and process optimization; automation and robotics, performance metrics and KPIs; Innovation and R&D; Sustainability and environmental stewardship; Supply chain optimization; Customer-centric approach; and Risk management.

Speakers for the session are: Ankit Patel, Executive Director, Bodal Chemicals; B. M. Patel, President & Chief Operating Officer - Chemicals Business, DCM Shriram; Anant Pande, Chief Manufacturing Officer, Deepak Nitrite; Subhat Kumar Jindal, Chief of Operations, Aarti Industries; Devendra Kumar Ray, President - Operations, Cohizon Life Sciences; Pravindan Gadhavi, Unit Head, Superform Chemistries; and Vasudev Narsinghani, Founder, Centre for Excellence in Management and Technical Education.
