Gujarat ColourLam Pvt Ltd has proposed to manufacture resin at Tadkeshwar in Gujarat\'s Surat district.

In a letter to the Ministry of Environment and Forests for environmental clearance, the company said it is already producing particle boards at the present unit and the production of resins will help in availability of the materials locally instead of purchasing them from outside.

For its new venture, no new land is required. The company already has 28,935 sq m of land for its particle board plant. The new unit will occupy 267.57 sq m of land
within the existing unit.

The project cost for the new unit will be Rs 28.5 lakh and the combined cost of both the particle board and resin units will be Rs 1374.53 lakh.

For pollution control measures, the capital cost is Rs 13 lakh and recurring cost is Rs 2 lakh for both existing and proposed units.

For the new unit, 5 more persons will be employed as the unit already has 60 people.

The company said there are no reserve forest areas or sensitive places around the plant and no protected forest near the site.

In its presentation, it said there will not be any major potential for negative impact on the environment due to the proposed project.

The company said it will adopt all safety and hazard identification measures besides a strong disaster management policy.
