Reputed companies in the chemical sector to invest in Dahej and Saykha GIDC
Gujarat Government has undertaken a series of planned efforts to make the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGS) 2024 a success.This Vibrant Summit is becoming a global platform for investors and industrialists from India and abroad.
As a part of the run-up to Vibrant Summit-2024, the state government has already initiated MoUs with various industries.
In the second phase of this initiative, in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, various industries will invest a total of ₹1,401 crores to set up industries in the state through 4 MoUs that were signed on 2 August, Wednesday in Gandhinagar.
Accordingly, 4 industries have signed MoUs with a total investment of Rs. 1,401 crores in the chemical sector. These industries will set up their units at Saykha and Dahej GIDC in Bharuch district providing 2285 potential employment opportunities.
The MoUs were signed by S.J. Haider, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Industries on behalf of the state government and representatives of industry houses such as Senior CEOs, MDs in the presence of Minister of Industry Shri Balwantsinh Rajput and Minister of State Harsh Sanghvi.
In two phases of the MoU signing program held every Wednesday, 10 MoUs with a total investment of Rs.2,761 crores have been signed for establishing various industries. With the commencement of these industries, more than 5000 potential employment opportunities will be generated in the near future.
1800 potential employment opportunities will be created in the textile sector, 700 in the engineering sector, 500 in the pharmaceutical sector, and 2285 jobs will be created in the chemical sector.
As per the MoUs signed on August 2, by 2024-25-26, the industry will be set up by Gujarat Fluorochemicals at Dahej-2 with an investment of Rs. 50 crores in Saykha and Dahej GIDC to produce lithium hexafluorophosphate used as battery chemical in electric vehicles.
Apart from this, Savita Green Tech Limited will start a plastic bottle recycling project with an investment of Rs.493 crore in Saykha GIDC.
Harcros Chemicals Pvt. Ltd. will set up a specialty chemicals plant at Dahej-1 with an investment of ₹300 crores, while Ashu Organic (India) Pvt. Ltd. will start a manufacturing plant for dyes and pigment intermediates in Dahej-3, with an investment of Rs. 108 crores.
