Hawkins is expanding its footprint in the Midwest water treatment market with the acquisition of the assets of Aqua-Chem, a move that strengthens its push into commercial pool services across Nebraska and Iowa.

Aqua-Chem supplies water treatment products for commercial pools, including chemistry, equipment, and servicing, with a strong regional presence built on close customer relationships.

“The acquisition of Aqua-Chem is important as we continue to execute on our Water Treatment growth strategy and we believe this tuck in acquisition will lead to more opportunities in commercial pools,” said Hawkins Chief Executive Officer, Patrick H. Hawkins.

Hawkins said the deal fits squarely into the company’s broader strategy of scaling its Water Treatment business through targeted acquisitions.

“Aqua-Chem has built a strong business and a loyal customer following due to its service and customer intimacy culture, and is well-connected with its local communities, similar to Hawkins. I would like to welcome the Aqua-Chem team to the Hawkins organization and look forward to our continued growth together.”

The acquisition adds to Hawkins’ growing national footprint. The company, founded in 1938 and headquartered in Roseville, Minnesota, operates 66 facilities across 28 states and serves customers in water treatment, food and health sciences, and industrial solutions. It reported $974 million in revenue in fiscal 2025 and employs approximately 1,100 people.

Hawkins said it will continue leveraging acquisitions and customer-focused operations to expand its water treatment segment, particularly in high-demand commercial pool markets.
