Himadri Speciality Chemical Ltd (HSCL) has fired the next big shot in its global expansion playbook, commencing commercial operations of a newly commissioned 70,000 MTPA Speciality Carbon Black line at its manufacturing facility in Mahistikry, Hooghly.
With this brownfield expansion now live, Himadri’s total Carbon Black manufacturing capacity has surged to 2,50,000 MTPA. Of that, 1,30,000 MTPA of Speciality Carbon Black capacity is concentrated at the Mahistikry site — officially making it the world’s largest single-location Speciality Carbon Black manufacturing facility.
The scale-up marks a defining moment in the company’s growth journey, tightening its grip on leadership in the global speciality carbon black market.
The expansion significantly strengthens Himadri’s speciality portfolio, sharpening its ability to serve high-value, performance-driven applications across plastics, inks, paints, coatings and other niche segments. Built with advanced process technologies, state-of-the-art quality control systems, energy-efficient operations and scalable infrastructure, the new line is designed to consistently deliver premium grades to global customers.
