Huber Engineered Materials (HEM), a division of J.M. Huber Corporation (Huber), yesterday announced it has reached an agreement to purchase the Nutri Granulations manufacturing asset and business of IMCD N.V. (IMCD), a Netherlands-based distributor of specialty chemicals and ingredients. The agreement is expected to close on April 1, 2021, subject to customary closing conditions.

Located in La Mirada, California, Nutri Granulations manufactures food grade and USP grade calcium carbonate granulations for the nutraceuticals, food, over-the-counter and pharmaceuticals markets.

“We’re thrilled to add Nutri Granulations to our portfolio because their reputation for quality, reliability and customer focus aligns perfectly with ours,” says Matt O’Brien, Senior Vice President and General Manager for HEM’s Ground Calcium Carbonate strategic business unit. “Also, adding an additional manufacturing site will support supply security and business continuity for our customers.”

“Huber Engineered Materials operates a diverse portfolio of businesses within Huber,” says Dan Krawczyk, President of HEM. “We are pleased to continue to grow the nutrition portion of our Ground Calcium Carbonate business as a way to further our commitment to invest into accretive strategic market segments.”

“Huber is an important supplier partner for IMCD, and we are delighted to reach an agreement on the sale of Nutri Granulations,” says Marcus Jordan, Americas President, IMCD. “HEM is a favorable long-term fit for Nutri Granulations and this agreement aligns with IMCD’s asset light business model.”
