Kao Corporation opens its new tertiary amine production plant in Pasadena, Texas, United States. With an annual production capacity of 20,000 tons, the new facility is set to strengthen Kao’s ability to meet growing demand in the US market.

Kao, already the world leader in tertiary amine production, operates three production sites in Japan, the Philippines, and Germany, leveraging proprietary technology to deliver high-quality products. The Pasadena facility establishes a three-continent production network—North America, Europe, and Asia—ensuring faster, more reliable supply for customers worldwide.

“This new plant represents a strategic milestone for Kao’s Chemical Business, supporting both regional growth in North America and our global supply network,” said Daisuke Hamada, President of Kao’s Chemical Business. “Combining our proprietary technology with a proven safety record and stringent quality control, the Pasadena plant will be a cornerstone of a stable, resilient, and sustainable global supply chain.”

The Pasadena site spans 45 hectares and is being considered as a platform not only for tertiary amine production but also for collaborative efforts with partners to develop derivative products.
