Kemira expands North American water treatment footprint with ANMAC acquisition
The acquisition brings ANMAC’s operations, customer contracts and related assets into Kemira’s Water Solutions business unit

Kemira Oyj has strengthened its presence in North America after completing the acquisition of the business and related assets of California-based ANMAC Water Treatment Service, Inc., in a move aimed at accelerating growth in the fast-expanding industrial water treatment services market.
The acquisition brings ANMAC’s operations, customer contracts and related assets into Kemira’s Water Solutions business unit, adding new capabilities in preventive pinhole corrosion protection for large residential and commercial properties, including multi-unit housing, senior living facilities, hospitals, office buildings and hotels.
ANMAC generated approximately USD 8.5 million in revenue in 2025 and employs 19 people. The purchase price was not disclosed.
Kemira said the deal will strengthen its ability to provide end-to-end water treatment solutions by combining ANMAC’s service expertise with Kemira’s chemical applications.
“This acquisition enhances our ability to deliver more value to customers by combining ANMAC Water Treatment Service, Inc.’s service expertise with Kemira’s chemical applications,” said Tuija Pohjolainen-Hiltunen, EVP, Water Solutions.
“It’s the third acquisition since our purchase of Water Engineering, Inc., which has provided us with a solid platform for organic and inorganic growth in industrial water treatment services in North America.”
The acquisition marks another step in Kemira’s strategy to expand its industrial water treatment services business, a segment the company says is growing faster than traditional water treatment markets.
