LANXESS introduces surcharge for Lewatit ion exchange resins

The price adjustment takes effect immediately and will be globally applied

  • By ICN Bureau | April 09, 2026

Specialty chemicals company LANXESS is introducing a surcharge for all Lewatit ion exchange resins and related products of its business unit Liquid Purification Technologies of 6 to 8 percent. Lewatit ion exchange resins are widely used in water treatment, in the food and beverage industry, the energy sector, and chemical processing applications.

The price adjustment takes effect immediately and will be globally applied. Contractual customers will be informed individually.

The reason for the surcharge are continuously rising costs in particular for raw materials, energy and logistics.

Despite ongoing efforts to improve efficiency and mitigate cost increases, the current market environment requires this step. The surcharge ensures a reliable supply, consistent product quality and further investment in technology, capacity and sustainability.
