Nouryon launches Berol Nexxt surfactant and Dissolvine GL Premium chelating agent at SEPAWA 2023

Berol Nexxt surfactant optimizes performance, delivers a unique cosurfactant solution to the cleaning market

Nouryon, a global specialty chemicals leader, announced the launch of two new innovative products at the annual SEPAWA Congress and Exhibition, hosted in Berlin, Germany. The new innovations include Berol Nexxt, a next-generation surfactant and multifunctional hydrotrope, and Dissolvine GL Premium, the industry’s most concentrated GLDA-based chelating agent.

Berol Nexxt surfactant optimizes performance, delivers a unique cosurfactant solution to the cleaning market, and is available as a high-active (65%), low color, aqueous solution that can be formulated easily into a variety of consumer and industrial cleaning applications. Berol® Nexxt can tackle tough stains in cold water laundry cycles and automatic dishwashing where lower temperatures and shorter cycle times have been known to challenge the ability of detergents to satisfactorily degrease residual fats and oils.

“We are pleased to launch Berol Nexxt and believe it will enable our customers to develop enhanced cleaning solutions in a broad array of novel formulations while delighting consumer and industrial users alike,” said Suzanne Carroll, Senior Vice President of Home and Personal Care at Nouryon. “Nouryon continues to develop and offer ingredient solutions for customers to create sustainable and superior formulations that are both EU Ecolabel and Nordic Swan compliant.”

Dissolvine GL Premium, the as-sold product, is non-hazardous and has no transport classification. With its high activity (55%) in water, the product is compatible with polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) films and is therefore well-suited for laundry and dishwashing pod applications. Compared to phosphonates, GLDA is a far more effective chelating agent and does not contribute to eutrophication.

“Nouryon is committed to providing high-performance, sustainable solutions to our customers as reflected in our industry-leading green chelating agent technology,” said Brad Pearson, Vice President Cleaning Goods. “Our differentiated Dissolvine® GL Premium chelating agent technology allows our customers to provide more sustainable and differentiated products to the cleaning market.”

Nouryon recently launched its biodegradable chelates production facility in Herkenbosch, the Netherlands, to support its customers in the development of sustainable cleaning solutions. Dissolvine® GL Premium chelating agent is produced at the new facility, providing a low carbon footprint for EU-based customers.
