Perstorp to shut down polyols plant in Toledo

This decision follows a thorough assessment of Perstorp’s manufacturing footprint

  • By ICN Bureau | September 03, 2026

Perstorp Polyols confirms the permanent discontinuation of operations at its production facility in Toledo, Ohio, effective September 2.

The North American market remains a strategic priority in becoming a global leader in specialty chemicals and Perstorp remains committed to serving customers and partners in the U.S. region. The discontinuation of production does not affect Perstorp's sales, customer service, planning or distribution operations in the U.S., ensuring continued high service levels and commitment to quality for customers.

This decision follows a thorough assessment of Perstorp’s manufacturing footprint and reflects the need to consolidate production within its network. Consolidating production to fewer and strategically positioned facilities supports a more efficient and effective manufacturing network, while maintaining reliable supply to customers in the U.S. and other regions.

The decision impacts approximately 70 % of the U.S. employees and Perstorp is fully committed to supporting affected employees throughout the transition in a safe, respectful and responsible manner.
