PPG unveils upgraded toners across Middle East & Africa

The upgraded toners promise smoother pouring, faster mixing, and improved equipment compatibility

Global paints, coatings, and specialty materials major PPG has unveiled a tangible productivity boost for commercial transport refinishing operations by upgrading its toners.

The company has announced significant enhancements to its Nexa Autocolor Turbo Vision commercial transportation toner system, now available across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

The upgraded toners promise smoother pouring, faster mixing, and improved equipment compatibility—without compromising the high-performance color accuracy, durability, and finish the brand is known for.

The improvements come in direct response to customer feedback, particularly around mixing efficiency. Independent customer trials have demonstrated that the new formulation can cut manual mixing time by 30% to 40% for certain colors, while delivering more consistent results across the full color range.

"Driven by our commitment to continuous innovation, we’ve refined our Nexa Autocolor Turbo Vision topcoat technology using the latest advancements,” said Christina Galvin, PPG Global Commercial Transport Product Manager, Automotive Refinish. “These improvements save time in the mixing room while maintaining the finish and performance our customers expect.”

The upgraded toners are designed to streamline operations in busy workshops. Key advantages include: easy mixing, that is, faster, cleaner pouring and stirring, with less variation in viscosity; increased throughput meaning reduced preparation time and fewer errors free up time for other tasks; and less waste that's more efficient use of each can and fewer mistakes requiring rework.

PPG emphasized that the new toners are fully compatible with existing Nexa Autocolor  products, including binders, ancillaries, and formulations. No product returns are required, allowing businesses to upgrade seamlessly without disruption.

Industry experts note that the refinements address long-standing pain points in commercial vehicle painting, where precision, speed, and consistency are critical. By combining improved handling with proven finish quality, PPG is aiming to reinforce its position as a leading supplier of automotive refinish solutions in EMEA.
