Rallis India to expand capacity of Pendimethalin plant at Dahej

The proposed capacity addition of approx. 2000 MTPA will require investment of approx. Rs. 15 crore

The Board of Directors of Rallis India Ltd have approved the proposal for capacity addition of the existing Pendimethalin Plant at Dahej SEZ unit.

The proposed capacity addition of approx. 2000 MTPA will require investment of approx. Rs. 15 crore which will be financed through internal accruals. The existing capacity of around 5000 MTPA is running at 90% capacity utilization.

The expansion is expected to be completed in a phased manner by FY 25. The expanded capacity will help to meet the sales demand for international as well as domestic market.

Pendimethalin is a member of dinitroaniline herbicide group. Pendimethalin is a pre-emergence herbicide with residual activity and has broad spectrum control of annual grasses and broadleaf weeds in various crops, horticultural crops, turf and forestry. The primary mode of action is to inhibit cell division and cell elongation in cells of susceptible weeds there by inhibiting the root and shoot growth. The method of application and time of application depends on sowing type of various crops.
