Sekisui Specialty Chemicals is raising prices across its core product lines, signalling mounting cost pressures in the global chemicals market.
The company confirmed it will increase prices for Selvol Polyvinyl Alcohol, Selvol Ultiloc, Selvol Ultalux, and Selvol Premiol products across multiple regions, with hikes taking effect April 15, 2026, or as existing contracts allow.
Under the new pricing structure, customers in North America and Latin America will see increases of $350 per metric ton, while Asia faces a sharper jump of $650 per metric ton. In the EMEA region, prices will rise by €550 per metric ton.
Sekisui Specialty Chemicals said it “remains committed to meeting customers' needs with high quality products,” even as it moves to adjust pricing globally. Customers are being advised to contact their local sales representatives for further details.
The move affects the company’s flagship Selvol line—high-performance polyvinyl alcohol polymers widely used in industries ranging from packaging and construction to personal care and adhesives. Its newer Selvol Ultiloc copolymers represent a recent expansion of the product family, designed to deliver enhanced functionality.
Beyond Selvol products, Sekisui Specialty Chemicals also markets Advancell expandable microspheres and S-LEC BK polyvinyl acetal resins, reinforcing its position in specialty materials.
The company operates as part of the broader Sekisui Chemical Group, a multibillion-dollar global enterprise with operations spanning housing, social infrastructure, and chemical solutions.
