Specialty chemicals leader Shivtek Spechemi Industries is investing over Rs. 150 crore to build a greenfield manufacturing complex in Pungam (Ankleshwar), Gujarat. The company recently acquired 21 acres of industrial land for the state-of-the-art facility, which will produce specialty chemicals and clean fuel technologies to fulfill rising domestic and international demand.

This expansion strengthens Shivtek’s established multi-hub network across Kurnool, Rajpura, and Dahej. The Pungam site leverages proximity to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway (NE-4) and Hazira Port to secure direct links to key logistics corridors, raw materials, and global shipping routes. Additionally, the future Bhadbhut Barrage Project will enhance connectivity, linking operations directly to Shivtek's primary Dahej plant.

Speaking about the acquisition, Amitt Nenwani, Managing Director, Shivtek Spechemi Industries Ltd, said, “This milestone is also a step towards supporting the Government of India's vision of Viksit Bharat @2047 and Atmanirbhar Bharat, and we look forward to showcasing this project at the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2027.

Located on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, and proximity to Hazira port and our Dahej facility, gives us the connectivity and infrastructure we need to scale efficiently. This new facility will not only expand our specialty chemicals portfolio but also allow us to pilot next-generation Methanol-to-Gas and Hydrogen Fuel technologies for the shipping industry, reinforcing our commitment to innovation and cleaner energy.”

This acquisition is a core milestone in Shivtek’s long-term growth strategy. The upcoming facility will scale production capacity, secure supply chain resilience, and diversify the product portfolio to meet rising global and domestic demand for specialty chemicals. Built to international safety and manufacturing standards, the project integrates advanced production units, dedicated utilities, quality control laboratories, and comprehensive warehousing and storage infrastructure.

Phase 1 will include manufacturing of Pharma Grade Hydrochloric Acid (HCl) as well as the processing and manufacturing of specialty feedstock and specialty petrochemicals, with a planned capacity of 84,000 MTPA.

Crucially, Phase 2 will establish pilot-scale units for Methanol-to-Gas and Hydrogen Fuel technologies, addressing the global maritime sector's shift toward cleaner energy alternatives. Additionally, the company will expand the product portfolio to include a wide range of petrochemical intermediates, ranging from low boilers to heavy boilers, with an additional capacity of 60,000 MTPA.

Upon commercial operation, the complex will supply high-value feedstock and intermediates to critical end-use sectors, including pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, personal care, industrial coatings, water treatment, textiles, and other specialty chemical applications.

The project is designed to generate significant direct and indirect employment across construction and operational phases. Built to international Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) benchmarks, the facility reinforces Shivtek’s commitment to responsible chemical manufacturing, supply chain resilience, and long-term value creation

Phase 1 is targeted for commissioning by March 2027, with commercial operations expected to begin shortly thereafter.
