Electronic grade hydrogen peroxide is vital for cleaning semiconductor wafers
Solvay is more than doubling its annual production capacity for electronic-grade hydrogen peroxide in Taiwan. The expansion, managed through its Shinsol Advanced Chemicals joint venture, is scheduled for completion by the end of 2026.
Building on the 2023 launch of Shinsol Advanced Chemicals' Taiwan facility, Solvay continues to advance semiconductor technology. Electronic grade hydrogen peroxide is vital for cleaning semiconductor wafers. Because modern, miniaturized chips are highly sensitive to microscopic impurities, Solvay’s ultra-high purity products are essential to guarantee chip quality and performance.
"Taiwan plays a pivotal role in the global semiconductor value chain, and this expansion reflects our confidence in the market's long-term growth prospects," said Carlos Silveira, President of Solvay's Peroxides business. "By investing in additional local capacity, we are strengthening our ability to support customers with reliable supply, advanced technology and high-quality solutions."
The high-purity grades produced in Taiwan have been qualified by local customers and deliver the same performance, quality standards and consistency as products supplied from Solvay's global manufacturing network.
"The continued expansion of our partnership with Solvay reflects our shared ambition to support the growth of Taiwan's semiconductor industry," said Gregory Wu, Chairman of Shinsol Advanced Chemicals. "Together, we are increasing local production capabilities while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety and operational excellence."
