SUEZ was recently awarded contracts for wastewater treatment equipment and full-process technical services for two Chinese chemical parks. The contracts also include the supply of municipal and industrial wastewater treatment equipment and technical services.
At Wanhua Yantai Industrial Park, in the Shandong province of China, SUEZ will provide Wanhua Group, a global chemical company, with integrated wastewater treatment units and a full-process suite for the tertiary treatment of concentrated wastewater. The process is the result of intensive innovation and allows the client to reuse discharged ozone exhaust gas in the aerated biochemical reactor, which enables waste gas recycling but also significantly improves the efficiency of biochemical treatment. The project is expected to cut COD emissions and reduce carbon emissions by 13,000 tons and 3,930 tons per year, respectively, while reducing operating costs and electricity consumption by 681,895 kWh every year. This is the third joint project between the two companies following successful collaborations in 2017 and 2018.
Additionally, at the Lianyungang Petrochemical Industrial Base, SUEZ will provide a full-stage water treatment solution, along with equipment and technical services to Shenghong Group, a Fortune 500 company. The project applies SUEZ’s “embedded WWTP” concept which helps the refining-chemical integration project to meet the most stringent discharge standards for wastewater treatment in public works. The solution turns waste into resources and will reduce carbon emissions by 8,123 tons a year.
Additionally, SUEZ also signed a series of municipal and industrial wastewater treatment contracts with a combined daily treatment capacity of more than 1 million m3. These projects will significantly improve local water quality and wastewater treatment capacity, while enabling the reuse of water and conserving scarce land resources. Among them, the industrial water treatment facilities can help remove large volumes of suspended solids and polluted elements from wastewater, thus preventing secondary pollution of water bodies.
