Sukhjit Starch & Chemicals delays new plant operations due to Covid-19
Company has postponed the commencement of regular operations by the unit due to increasing number of Covid-19 cases in the state of Punjab.

Sukhjit Starch & Chemicals Ltd has announced that the trial runs of the new plant in Punjab have been successfully completed. However, the management has postponed the commencement of regular operations by the unit due to increasing number of Covid-19 cases, in the state of Punjab, has constrained the State Government to re-impose night curfew & weekend lockdown with other restrictions in whole of the State.
The management will continuously appraise the situation to take necessary decision in the matter at an appropriate time as the Covid situation evolves stated the company.
The company had earlier predicted lower sales and profits in the first quarter owing to lower capacity utilization due to Covid-19 impact.
The company is a manufacturer of starch and its derivatives in India and engaged in development, manufacturing and distribution of Maize Starch, Dextrin, Liquid Glucose, Malto-Dextrin, Dextrose Monohydrate, Dextrose Anhydrous, Sorbitol solution and various by-products, such as Maize Oil, Maize Oil Cake and Corn Gluten. The company's products have a range of applications in various industries, including food, textiles, pharmaceuticals and paper.
The company offers products in various categories, such as food and drink, including Baked Goods, Frozen Foods, Honey and Preserved Foods; Paper and Board, including Wet End and Coating; Personal Care and Pharma, including Tooth Paste, Shoe Polish and Bulk Drug Fermentation, and Animal Feed and Pet Foods, including Pet Foods, Poultry Feed and Cattle Feed.
