Sun Chemical and its parent company, DIC Corporation, have acquired Seller Ink Industria e Comércio de Tintas e Vernizes Ltda., a specialty inks and coatings manufacturer based in São Paulo, Brazil.
With over 25 years of experience, Seller Ink has a strong market presence in both the security ink and the metal decorating markets. With the acquisition of the Brazilian-based company, Sun Chemical will increase its specialty inks and coatings offering in Latin America and will obtain a local manufacturing platform for security inks to provide first-class service.
“Both the metal decorating and the security ink markets are high growth markets in Latin America,” said Felipe Mellado, Vice President of Special Projects at Sun Chemical. “By joining forces, we will be able to offer a better customer experience and accelerate our growth in these key markets. Seller Ink has an excellent track record in the security market. Combining their technology with that of Luminescence Sun Chemical Security will allow us to increase sales both inside and outside of Latin America.”
“We are delighted to become part of Sun Chemical’s Specialty Inks and Coatings Division,” said Raphael Godoy, Business Director at Seller Ink. “We have a great pipeline of opportunities and with the support and financial strength of Sun Chemical, the global leader in inks, we will be well placed to accelerate the conversion of these opportunities into recurrent sales.”
