Symrise is expanding its global manufacturing footprint with a new production capacity for Globalide in India, positioning the company to meet rising demand for high-performance, sustainable fragrance ingredients in fast-growing markets.

The investment strengthens the company’s supply capabilities for the biodegradable macrocyclic musk ingredient, brings production closer to key customer markets in Asia and reinforces its Aroma Molecules business in a high-potential product segment.

The move also advances Symrise’s ONE Symrise strategy, focusing on targeted investment, resilient value creation and profitable growth through differentiated ingredients.

“The investment in our Globalide production footprint underlines our ambition to strengthen strategic product areas that create tangible value for our customers. With this step we are advancing our Scent & Care portfolio. Also, we are generating additional momentum for Symrise’s growth in line with our ONE Symrise strategy,” says Michael Friede, President Scent & Care at Symrise.

As the global fragrance ingredients market grows, demand is rising for ingredients that deliver lasting olfactory performance, versatility across applications and compatibility with evolving fragrance concepts.

Symrise is responding by investing in additional world-scale production capacity for Globalide® in India. The biodegradable macrocyclic musk ingredient delivers long-lasting, elegant fragrance notes while supporting customers in developing more sustainable fragrance formulations.

“With the additional production capacity in India, we are moving closer to the fast-growing markets in Asia while adding another pillar to our long-term global manufacturing footprint,” says Keke Hiller, Global President Aroma Molecules at Symrise.

“Globalide combines high fragrance quality with a contemporary profile. Drawing on our product and technology expertise, we help customers develop attractive, future-ready products for consumers”.

The investment is designed to give Symrise greater flexibility across its global supply network while laying the groundwork for meeting long-term demand growth for Globalide.

By expanding production in India, the company is strengthening its position in the specialty fragrance ingredients market and reinforcing its ability to serve customers across key markets with a reliable supply of the ingredient.

The move combines manufacturing expansion with a focus on product differentiation, sustainability and customer proximity, supporting Symrise’s broader ambition to drive profitable growth in strategic fragrance ingredient categories.
