UPM has introduced a new portfolio of purpose-built adhesive solutions designed to meet the stringent performance requirements of pharmaceutical, wine and spirits, and industrial labeling applications.
The company said its latest offerings—UPM PharmaSure, UPM Vetro, and UPM Endurance — are engineered to address the unique challenges faced in demanding labeling environments where conventional adhesive technologies often fall short.
Label performance has become increasingly critical across industries, particularly in applications exposed to extreme environmental conditions, regulatory requirements, and operational stresses.
Pharmaceutical labels must withstand sterilization processes, cold-chain logistics, and application on small-diameter containers, while wine and spirits labels are expected to remain intact under humidity, refrigeration, and ice-bucket immersion. Industrial labels, meanwhile, require reliable adhesion on difficult surfaces while enduring chemical exposure, mechanical stress, and hot-fill conditions.
UPM said the new adhesive solutions are backed by decades of formulation expertise and supported by its global innovation network. The products are designed to provide industry-specific performance while simplifying adhesive selection for converters and brand owners.
In addition to addressing application-specific challenges, the solutions are supported by pre-assessed performance data and technical documentation, helping customers streamline qualification and regulatory approval processes.
"With demanding label applications, adhesive selection is a critical decision. Our purpose-built adhesive solutions help our customers choose the right performance for their end-use,” says Christian Szameit, Senior Vice President, Global Markets at UPM Adhesive Materials.
The launch forms part of UPM Raflatac's broader label materials portfolio and reflects the company's focus on delivering specialized adhesive technologies for high-performance labeling applications across regulated and technically demanding industries.
UPM Adhesive Materials is one of the fastest-growing businesses within UPM, employing approximately 3,300 professionals globally. The business reported sales of nearly €1.7 billion in 2025.
