Velocys plc has completed the manufacturing and delivery of four reactors to Red Rock Biofuels (RRB) for the company’s biomass-to-fuels facility.

RRB has a further option to purchase an additional two reactors by the end of 2020.

RRB broke ground on its Lakeview facility in mid-2018. The facility is expected to convert 136,000 tons of wood biomass per year into approximately 15.1 million gallons of advanced drop-in biofuels, including jet, diesel and naptha fuels. The plant incorporates three technologies, gasification, Fischer-Tropsch and hydroprocessing.

This fuel is essential for the hard to decarbonize transportation sector and will help to meet net zero emissions as required by many Governments.”
