The Wesseling site is set for a more stable and sustainable future after Röhm announced a long-term agreement ensuring reliable methanol supply for MMA production.
The move strengthens both operational security and environmental performance at the site.
Evonik and Lülsdorf Functional Solutions GmbH have jointly implemented a new dedicated pipeline designed to guarantee continuous raw material availability while improving logistics and reducing the carbon footprint. The pipeline was successfully brought into operation in April 2026.
The project was developed to deliver both supply stability and environmental gains, combining industrial efficiency with long-term resilience.
"The solution is economically viable, logistically efficient, and designed for long-term stability. It strengthens the site’s resilience while simultaneously improving the environmental performance of production.”
At the inauguration, Christopher Schindler, Head of Procurement, highlighted the broader significance of the collaboration, saying: "Here, we see an industrial network that not only connects facilities, but also people, competencies, and strategies. And that is exactly where true strength emerges."
