Agilis is assembling a heavyweight roster of chemical industry veterans as it moves from proving its digital platform to scaling enterprise adoption and AI across the global chemicals market.
The digital and AI solutions provider announced Tuesday the formation of an Advisory Board featuring former senior executives from Dow, BASF, Brenntag, allnex and Boston Consulting Group (BCG).
The five-member board brings experience spanning chemical manufacturing, distribution, commercial strategy, digital transformation, mergers and acquisitions and international expansion. Agilis said the group will advise its leadership on strategy, product development, enterprise adoption, commercial execution and global growth.
The move comes as Agilis positions itself for a broader push into enterprise AI. The company says it has digitized more than one million SKUs, operates in more than 50 countries and has had AI features running in customer environments since 2024 — while much of the chemical industry remains focused on pilot projects.
"We started Agilis to solve a practical problem: the chemical industry needed digital technology built around its own products, data and commercial processes," said Jay Bhatia, Founder and CEO of Agilis. "That foundation is now proven at enterprise scale. This Advisory Board will help us apply it more widely — to how chemical companies operate, sell, and serve their customers."
The board includes: Dan Futter, former Chief Commercial Officer of Dow, who helped pioneer digital channel adoption at the chemical giant and led the launch of Dow.com, one of the industry's largest e-commerce channels.
Steve Holland, former Chief Executive Officer of Brenntag, who led the chemical distributor through its transformation into a publicly listed global player, expanding sales, profitability and international reach.
Gerry Podesta, former Senior Vice President at BASF, who led three major specialty chemical divisions and drove operational discipline and profitable growth. He previously served as VP of GE Plastics Americas.
Andreas Gocke, former Senior Partner at BCG and leader of its global chemicals practice, who advised chemical companies across Europe, Asia and the Middle East on strategy, transformation and value creation.
Benoit DeBecker, former Senior Vice President of Corporate Development at allnex, who helped drive transformational growth during the company's private-equity journey, overseeing M&A, commercial excellence, sustainability and innovation.
Futter said Agilis' traction was a key reason for joining the board.
"I joined Agilis because it has moved beyond promise to proven adoption," said Dan Futter. "Its business model is working, the technology is being used at meaningful scale, and the leadership team understands the operational realities of the chemical industry. Agilis is well positioned to turn digital technology and AI into practical business value, and I look forward to helping the team scale responsibly."
The advisory appointments give Agilis a leadership bench with experience across both sides of the chemical industry's digital transformation — from manufacturers and distributors to consultants driving large-scale strategy and corporate change.
