Fujitsu and SAP to modernize Sekisui Chemical’s management platform

Sekisui Chemical aims to build a data-driven management framework that enables faster decision-making and fosters new value creation

Sekisui Chemical, Fujitsu Limited, and SAP Japan Co. announced the comprehensive modernization of Sekisui Chemical’s management platform. The initiative aims to strengthen data-driven and agile decision-making through the implementation of SAP S/4HANA Cloud as the company’s new core system.

The first phase of the project, focusing on accounting systems, began in April 2025. Over time, SAP S/4HANA Cloud will be rolled out to roughly 100 Sekisui Chemical Group companies worldwide, centralizing and unifying administrative and data management processes. The modernization will also standardize sales and purchasing platforms, in addition to the accounting foundation, to create a globally consistent management infrastructure.

Sekisui Chemical launched a company-wide digital transformation program to enhance long-term corporate value amid today’s rapidly changing business environment. As part of this effort, the company began a global management transformation project in 2021, adopting SAP as a global standard. Through this modernization, Sekisui Chemical aims to build a data-driven management framework that enables faster decision-making and fosters new value creation.

Fujitsu has played a central role in the initiative, applying its proprietary methodology—developed through more than 40 years of experience as a global SAP partner—to support the implementation of SAP S/4HANA Cloud and SAP Business Technology Platform. Utilizing its Japan Global Gateway and Global Delivery Center in India, Fujitsu has established a system to ensure rapid, high-quality core modernization. The company will continue to provide comprehensive support throughout the project, drawing on its extensive expertise and internal implementation experience.

SAP Japan will continue working closely with Sekisui Chemical to strengthen its management foundation. By providing global and domestic insights, best practices, and optimized solutions, SAP Japan aims to help Sekisui Chemical achieve sustainable corporate value creation through the integrated use of financial and non-financial information.
