Swiss advanced materials company Gurit has secured a major long-term supply agreement with one of the world’s leading wind turbine manufacturers, strengthening its position at the forefront of the global wind energy supply chain.
The five-year contract covers the supply of engineered core material kits and is expected to generate approximately CHF 250 million in net sales over its duration, subject to the OEM’s demand. The deal guarantees continuous deliveries and provides long-term visibility and stability for both companies.
The agreement marks a significant milestone for Gurit, representing its first major contract centered on core kits using the company’s OptiCore technology. The advanced solution supports blade weight reduction, improved manufacturing efficiency and a lower total cost of ownership for turbine manufacturers.
Spanning both offshore and onshore wind platforms, the contract draws on Gurit’s global manufacturing footprint, with volume commitments across multiple regions. The deal further cements Gurit’s role as a key partner to the wind industry as it scales to meet global renewable energy demand.
“This major new long-term contract underscores our strong global market position and the enduring partnership we have built with strategic customers. It reflects the confidence in Gurit’s innovative solutions and our ability to deliver value over time.
"With our global footprint, we serve customers in all key markets while optimizing capacity and driving efficiency. We are proud to support the renewable energy industry and contribute to its continued growth,” says Tobias Lührig, Gurit Group CEO.
