Chambal Fertilisers stages strong Q1 FY27 recovery

PAT surges sequentially to Rs. 523.60 crore

Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals Limited reported a sharp sequential recovery in its financial performance for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026 (Q1 FY27), supported by stronger seasonal demand across its complex fertilisers and crop protection businesses.
 
The company posted a consolidated Net Profit After Tax (PAT) of Rs. 523.60 crore in Q1 FY27, marking a significant turnaround from Rs. 169.24 crore in the previous quarter. However, profit declined 4.61% year-on-year compared with Rs. 548.89 crore recorded in Q1 FY26.
 
Consolidated income for the quarter stood at Rs. 5,053.96 crore, compared with Rs. 5,740.93 crore in Q1 FY26 and Rs. 2,813.84 crore in Q4 FY26.
 
Revenue from operations came in at Rs. 5,027.02 crore in Q1 FY27, down 11.77% from Rs. 5,697.61 crore in the year-ago quarter. On a sequential basis, however, revenue jumped 80.50% from Rs. 2,785.03 crore in Q4 FY26, reflecting improved demand momentum.
 
Other income stood at Rs. 26.94 crore during the quarter, compared with Rs. 43.32 crore in Q1 FY26 and Rs. 28.81 crore in Q4 FY26.
 
Profit before tax (PBT) was reported at Rs. 746.72 crore, marginally lower than Rs. 753.52 crore in Q1 FY26 but significantly higher than Rs. 215.04 crore in the previous quarter.
 
Chambal Fertilisers recorded a net loss of Rs. 25.10 crore from its joint venture, accounted for under the equity method, during Q1 FY27. This compares with a profit share of Rs. 36.12 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
 
Total expenses during the quarter stood at Rs. 4,282.14 crore, compared with Rs. 5,023.53 crore in Q1 FY26. Major cost contributors included consumption of materials worth Rs. 1,482.39 crore and purchases of stock-in-trade amounting to Rs. 2,440.71 crore.
 
Total comprehensive income for Q1 FY27 stood at Rs. 543.85 crore, compared with Rs. 609.06 crore in Q1 FY26.
 
Revenue from the Crop Protection Chemicals, Speciality Nutrients and Seeds segment reached Rs. 430.38 crore in Q1 FY27, compared with Rs. 30.49 crore in Q4 FY26 and Rs. 458.24 crore in Q1 FY26.
 
Chambal Fertilisers’ complex fertilisers business delivered a strong turnaround, with segment profit before finance costs and tax (PBIT) rising to Rs. 238.71 crore in Q1 FY27. This compares with Rs. 142.87 crore in Q1 FY26 and a loss of Rs. 11.51 crore in Q4 FY26.
 
The Own Manufactured Fertilisers segment reported a PBIT of Rs. 431.77 crore, compared with Rs. 461.29 crore in the same quarter last year.
 
The Crop Protection Chemicals, Speciality Nutrients and Seeds segment posted a 12.72% year-on-year increase in segment profit, reaching Rs. 108.35 crore in Q1 FY27 compared with Rs. 96.12 crore in Q1 FY26.
 
The Q1 performance highlights a strong quarter-on-quarter recovery for Chambal Fertilisers, with improved fertiliser demand and renewed momentum across its speciality agriculture businesses supporting profitability.
