Air Products has landed a major new win with Samsung, securing a contract to supply industrial gases for the tech giant’s next-generation semiconductor fabrication plant in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea.
Under the agreement, Air Products will design, build, own and operate multiple advanced production facilities, along with a bulk specialty gas system delivering nitrogen, oxygen, argon and hydrogen to support the new fab.
The facilities are scheduled to begin coming online in phased stages between 2028 and 2030.
The deal deepens a long-running partnership between the two companies in South Korea’s semiconductor hub.
Air Products has repeatedly expanded its Pyeongtaek operations to keep pace with Samsung’s manufacturing growth, and this latest project marks its largest-ever investment in the semiconductor sector. It also cements Pyeongtaek as Air Products’ biggest global operating site serving the electronics industry.
“Air Products is honored to be selected once again by Samsung and to have their continued confidence as a trusted partner supporting their strategic growth plans,” said SR Kim, President, Air Products Korea.
“This significant investment reinforces Air Products’ role as a leading global supplier to the semiconductor industry and underscores our long-standing commitment to supporting our strategic customers with safety, reliability, efficiency and excellent service.”
Air Products, which has supplied gases to the global electronics industry for more than 40 years, said it continues to play a critical behind-the-scenes role in powering the world’s leading technology manufacturers.
