ATP Adhesives announced the launch of ATP North America, marking a major milestone in its global expansion strategy.

The company will invest $70 million to establish its first U.S. manufacturing facility in Columbia, South Carolina, dedicated to producing solvent-free adhesive tapes. This state-of-the-art, 127,000-square-foot plant is expected to create 130 new jobs and begin production in July 2026.

With this strategic expansion, ATP aims to better serve manufacturers across the United States and Canada by providing advanced, sustainable adhesive solutions with local product development capabilities. The new facility will significantly enhance supply chain efficiency, shorten lead times, and enable closer collaboration with customers from product trials to full-scale production.

Dirk Henke, Managing Director and newly appointed U.S. leader of ATP North America, emphasized the importance of this move in accelerating ATP's presence in the U.S. market. “ATP is recognized across Europe and Asia for delivering high-performance, solvent-free adhesive tapes. By combining our German and Swiss engineering expertise with American manufacturing in Columbia, South Carolina, we’re positioned to provide shorter lead times, a more secure supply chain, and hands-on local support using our solvent-free adhesive systems.”

ATP’s new U.S. facility will offer significant benefits for manufacturers seeking cost-effective, sustainable adhesive solutions. Producing tapes domestically allows ATP to reduce shipping times, improve supply chain reliability, and align inventory more closely with customer demand. The facility’s solvent-free coating technologies will also help customers reduce their environmental impact by lowering emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) compared to traditional solvent-based adhesives.

Daniel Heini, CEO of ATP Adhesives, highlighted the global significance of the announcement. “Launching ATP North America and building our first U.S. solvent-free facility is a major milestone in our company’s global growth journey. With a dedicated North American hub and manufacturing operations in Columbia, we are bringing our trusted innovation and reliability closer to customers throughout the U.S.”

The Columbia facility will feature integrated capabilities including solvent-free coating, on-site converting, and localized product development and technical support. Strategically located near major interstates and port access, the site is ideally positioned to support key industries with efficient distribution and customizable product formats.

Production is scheduled to begin in July 2026, with 130 new roles created once the facility is fully operational.
