Bhagiradha Chemicals and Industries inaugurates agrochemicals manufacturing plant in Karnataka

Bhagiradha Chemicals and Industries Limited has announced the formal inauguration of the agrochemicals manufacturing plant of its wholly owned subsidiary, Bheema Fine Chemicals Private Limited in Kadechur Industrial Area, Yadgir district, Karnataka yesterday. The commercial production of the wholly owned subsidiary will commence in due course of time and the same will be communicated to the stock exchanges separately.

Asian Paints pays Rs. 10 lakh EDC to GPCB

Asian Paints Limited has made the payment of Environment Damage Compensation (EDC) to the Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) regarding the minor fire incident (reported on December 22, 2023) in the under-construction premises of the plant of the company situated at Ankleshwar, Gujarat.

Asian Paints informed that fire was immediately brought under control. There were no injuries or loss of life because of this incident and the damage was localised and confined to the cooling tower area of the under-construction premises.

Gujarat Pollution Control Board has issued a direction dated 5th March 2024 under Section 31A of the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 imposing an interim Environment Damage Compensation (EDC) of Rs. 10,00,000 on the company.
