Covestro has been named a Top Employer in China for 2026 by the Top Employers Institute, extending its streak to eight consecutive years and reinforcing its reputation for strong people-first workplace practices.
The certification highlights Covestro’s continued focus on building a high-performing, inclusive and engaging work environment during a period of significant transformation for the company.
“This recognition reflects our unwavering commitment to our people at a time of change and transformation,” said Holly Lei, President of Covestro China. “We continue to invest in creating an environment where our employees can thrive, innovate, and contribute to making the world a brighter place.”
The Top Employers Institute, a global authority on human resources certification and benchmarking, evaluates companies through its annual HR Best Practices Survey. In the latest assessment, Covestro stood out across key areas including work environment, employee wellbeing, diversity, equity and inclusion, and digital HR capabilities.
Several flagship initiatives contributed to the recognition. Covestro China’s Five-Star Employee and Team Awards, launched in 2020, honor individuals and teams who demonstrate the company’s core cultural values. By 2025, more than 40 employees and around 80 teams had been recognized, with their stories shared internally to reinforce values-driven behavior and boost morale.
In learning and development, the company introduced the C-Pro program in 2025, connecting employees with internal experts through informal one-on-one exchanges. Supported by an AI-powered matching assistant, the pilot program engaged more than 300 employees within six months and achieved a net promoter score of 98, underscoring strong employee uptake and satisfaction.
Covestro has also expanded its use of digital tools in HR through an AI-powered HR assistant built on the Covestro Virtual Assistant platform.
Available 24/7, the tool provides employees with instant access to HR services, process guidance and personalized career coaching. By simulating real workplace scenarios, it also allows employees to practice difficult conversations with managers or colleagues, helping them prepare for real-world challenges.
The China recognition comes alongside similar honors in Germany and the United States, where Covestro was also named a Top Employer for 2026, underscoring the company’s global commitment to HR excellence.
