Distributes sewing machines and certificates to support skilling and livelihood for women empowerment
DCM Shriram Ltd., Jhagadia as a part of Corporate Social Responsibility supported a women’s empowerment program distributing training certificates and sewing machines to 25 underprivileged women from Bharuch who have completed training under the PMKVY 4.0 Sewing Machine Operator Course.
Rameshbhai Mistri, MLA-Bharuch, BM Patel, President and COO - Chemicals and Jayanti Parmar, VP-HR & IR, DCM Shriram Ltd., and other dignitaries inaugurated the program and distributed machines to the women along with course completion certificates.
On the occasion, Patel explained that India has been envisioning a 5 trillion dollar economy by 2027 and initiatives like these promoting livelihood are a tiny step by all of us towards making it possible. Parmar talked about the power of women and the machine coming together as a powerful step towards self-reliance, empowerment and gender equality.
Ramesh Mistry, MLA-153, Bharuch expressed his gratitude for supporting this noble cause and helping women by providing the much needed impetus to be an entrepreneur and start their own enterprises.
Bharuch based Jan Shikshan Sansthan has provided training in sewing machine operation to 25 women under PMKVY 4.0, “Aatma Nirbhar Bharat” initiative. The purpose of providing training and distribution of sewing machines is to support women empowerment and promote their participation in all areas and sectors to build stronger economies, improve their quality of life and ensure gender equality.
