DFPCL to pay Rs. 9.06 crore penalty to MPCB

The above order has been passed in respect of raising additional construction of commercial building ‘Creaticity’

The National Green Tribunal (NGT), vide its order dated August 10, 2023 has directed Deepak Fertilisers and Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd. (DFPCL) and its subsidiary, namely, Yerrowda Investments Limited (subsidiary) to deposit an amount of Rs. 9.06 crores towards Environmental Damage Compensation (EDC) with Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) within a period of 2 months from the date of uploading of the Order.

Further, MPCB has been directed to examine and take necessary action in the matter.  

The above order has been passed in respect of raising additional construction of commercial building ‘Creaticity’ (earlier known as ‘Ishanya’). The Environment Clearance dated 20.7.2020 for total Built Up Area (BUA) has been upheld by the NGT.
