Engineering plastics processor Ensinger has expanded its operations in India with the opening of a new machine shop in Bangalore, marking a significant step towards strengthening local manufacturing capabilities and bringing production closer to customers.
Located at Bangalore’s High Tech Aerospace & Defence Park, the facility will manufacture customer-specific plastic components, complementing the company’s existing sales and distribution network in the country. Ensinger plans to employ more than 50 people at the new site.
The investment adds local machining capabilities to Ensinger India’s established distribution operations, giving customers greater access to engineering and high-performance plastics, as well as precision-machined components.
Founded in 2012, Ensinger India currently serves the domestic market through its sales office in Thane and stock shapes warehouse in Bhiwandi, both in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
The new machine shop is strategically positioned to serve sectors with demanding technical and quality requirements, including aerospace and defence, semiconductor and electronics manufacturing, oil and gas, medical technology, pharmaceutical processing, and food and beverage equipment.
By integrating material supply and machining capabilities locally, Ensinger aims to improve responsiveness, flexibility and customer support in India's rapidly expanding industrial market.
Sivakumar Chokkalingam, Managing Director of Ensinger India, says: “The new machine shop brings our material knowledge and machining expertise together. As a one-stop shop for stock shapes and machined components in India, we can respond more directly to our customers’ requirements.”
The Bangalore facility has also secured AS9100 certification, an important quality milestone for its operations in aerospace and defence. The certification covers the manufacture of precision-machined engineering and high-performance plastic products for aerospace, defence and general industrial applications.
The new facility underscores Ensinger's commitment to expanding its global manufacturing footprint while strengthening its presence in one of the world's fastest-growing major economies.
Ralph Pernizsak, Managing Director of the Ensinger Group, says: “We are delighted to open our Bangalore machine shop and thank everyone involved for their dedication, teamwork and support,” says Ralph Pernizsak, Managing Director of the Ensinger Group. “This investment supports our global growth strategy and brings production closer to our customers. Local machining also strengthens our contribution to India’s growing economy.”
With the Bangalore machine shop now operational, Ensinger is positioning itself to deepen customer relationships, strengthen local value creation and tap into growing demand for high-performance engineering plastics across India's industrial landscape.
