Godrej Agrovet to host second edition of Women in Agri Summit

Despite over 80% of economically active women in India being engaged in agriculture, less than 15% hold decision-making roles

Godrej Agrovet Limited will host the second edition of the Women in Agriculture Summit on March 21, 2025 at Auditorium, Godrej One, Vikhroli, Mumbai. The Summit aims to address structural barriers for women in agriculture and build a more inclusive future. Despite over 80% of economically active women in India being engaged in agriculture, fewer than 15% hold decision-making roles, underscoring the need for action.

The summit will open with an address by Balram Singh Yadav, Managing Director, Godrej Agrovet, highlighting the progress on the company’s five-year commitment to uplift 1 lakh women in agriculture. The event will also feature the launch of the report, "Structural Barriers for Women in Agriculture", authored by Prof. Vidya Vemireddy Faculty Member – IIM Ahmedabad and commissioned by Godrej Agrovet in collaboration with Godrej DEI Lab and IIM Ahmedabad.

Two panel discussions will follow the launch. The first one, Breaking Barriers for Women in Agriculture to be moderated by Mallika Mutreja, Head – HR, Godrej Agrovet, with panelists: Kirti Jangra, Founder, Animall; Asha Kharga, Chief Customer and Brand Officer, Mahindra Group; Prof. Vidya Vemireddy Faculty Member – IIM Ahmedabad.

The second panel, Boardroom to Breakthroughs: Women in Leadership to be moderated by Parmesh Shahani, Head – Godrej DEI Lab, with panelists: Neetu Kashiramka, MD, VIP Industries; Ritu Verma, Founder & Managing Partner, Ankur Capital; Soumya Rajan, MD, Waterfield Advisors.
