Honeywell slashes price to £1.33B in amended deal for Johnson Matthey catalyst unit

The amendment reflects the unit's performance in the 2025-26 fiscal year

  • By ICN Bureau | February 23, 2026

Honeywell announced a significant revision to its agreement to acquire Johnson Matthey's Catalyst Technologies business.

The total consideration was reduced from the original £1.8 billion to £1.325 billion.

The "long stop date" for completing the transaction was extended to July 21, 2026, with a potential further push to August 21 to clear regulatory hurdles.

The amendment reflects the unit's performance in the 2025-26 fiscal year, characterized by deferred licensing projects and lower catalyst supply profitability.
