The performance highlighted top-line growth alongside contracted profitability due to weather disruptions and surging operational expenses
Leading agrochemical manufacturer Insecticides (India) Limited (IIL) reported a mixed financial performance for the second quarter (Q2) and first half (H1) of FY27. The performance highlighted top-line growth alongside contracted profitability due to weather disruptions and surging operational expenses.
For Q2 FY27, Insecticides (India) registered a 7.5% year-on-year (YoY) increase in consolidated revenue from operations, reaching Rs. 686 crore compared to Rs. 638 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal year.
However, despite steady revenue acceleration, consolidated net profit for the quarter slipped 5.1% YoY to Rs. 56.16 crore, down from Rs. 59.10 crore recorded in Q2 FY26. The bottom line contracted as total expenses jumped 8.65% YoY to Rs. 610.34 crore. Sequentially, net profit demonstrated strong recovery, increasing from Rs. 43.87 crore in Q1 FY27. For the first half of the fiscal year (H1 FY27), total net profit experienced a steeper 15% YoY decline, heavily impacted by unpredictable weather patterns and a severe rainfall deficit that restricted early crop protection demand.
Commenting on the results and performance, Rajesh Kumar Aggarwal, MD of Insecticides (India) Ltd. said: While the first half witnessed weather related disruptions across key agricultural regions, we remained focused on strengthening the building blocks of our long-term growth strategy. Our continued emphasis on premiumisation and operating efficiencies has supported constituency in margins. We are deepening farmer’s engagement through a transition towards farmer-led demand generation model, while KAEROS continues to gain traction as an emerging platform to expand distribution footprint.
We continue to advance crop-based approach, offering end-to-end solutions covering all the major crops in India. Through our IIL Crop Solutions (ICS) programme, we are currently reaching farmers across 16 states, demonstrating tangible improvements in farm economics.
Looking ahead, we remain focus on internal priorities, profitable growth and improvement in cash flow generations. Our expanded capacities, strong product pipeline, strategic partnerships and increasing farmer outreach position us well to capitalize on future opportunities and create long-term value for all stakeholders.”
