The Indian Small Scale Paint Association (ISSPA) kicked off its 17th Biennial Conference in Gurugram yesterday.

The event was graced by Chief Guest Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of Law and Justice in India; Convenor Shilpa Raveshia; Co-Convenor Dr. Ashok Gupta; President Vijay Bhai Dagli; Vice President Dinesh Prabhu; Additional Vice President Praful Patel; and Keynote Speaker Gunendra Pal Singh.

Addressing the inaugural session, Meghwal said, "Presently, we are the 5th largest economy and would be 3rd largest economy soon as India's economy is growing at the rate of 8%. The paint industry has a problem related to solvent and we would like to solve it by working in close coordination." 

Speaking at the inaugural session, Shilpa Raveshia, Convenor, 17th Biennial Conference said, "The three day conference will have technical lectures and opportunities to network so please enjoy the experience and take actionable learnings. The exhibition areas are showcasing innovative and transformative solutions which can help the industry in its forward path."

Vijay Bhai Dagli, President, ISSPA talked about activities of the association like regional events, quarterly Paint News Magazine, and Paint Technology course - Diploma, Degree and One Week Crash Course which will help members in their business decisions. The association is also commissioning a board room in its Mumbai office from where monthly informative lectures can be broadcasted to all its regions. The association is also in touch with BIS authorities and has formed two committees for CID 20 and CID 21."         

ISSPA also unveiled souvenir outlining its achievements and vision for the future. The souvenir was launched in presence of Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of Law and Justice in India.

On the occasion, ISSPA also awarded Nirav Raveshia (Lifetime Achievement Award), Rameshbhai Patel (Distinguished Service Award), and Kerala Minerals and Metals Ltd.(ISSPA Mitra Award). The Awards were presented by Meghwal.
